June 11th & 12th 2011, was date for the annual garden trail in Birstall, with 14 gardens in the lower Greengate Lane area, open to the public. This was the trails 21st birthday, in which time it has raised many thousands of pounds for a number of good cause. This years cause was 'Promise Nepal' a very worthy charity which supports people who suffer from leprosy in Nepal.
Against the weather forecast, Saturday turned out to be quite a reasonable day and many people took advantage and got out and about, enjoying the fresh air and the lovely gardens.
Unfortunately we weren't quite so lucky on the Sunday, with it pouring down with rain most of the afternoon. There still were some brave supporters who donned coats, boots and umbrellas and got out and about but not the normal crowds we see normally.
A very big thank you, go to the : -
Garden owners who worked so hard through the months leading up to the trail.
The many supporters who each year come and enjoy the gardens.
The many volunteers who help in so many ways.
The group of organisers who year in, make the event happen.
Birstall Garden Centre who have sponsored this event each year since 1991.
