Harvest Celebrations at Birstall

We celebrated the generosity of God's goodness in creation in various ways at Birstall this harvest.  For the fourth year running we brought an apple press to the village and pressed buckets and buckets of fresh apple juice - in  Riverside Primary on the Friday, at Highcliffe Primary on the Monday and in our own church car park on the Saturday.  That meant that well over 150 people were involved in the whole operation - and the juice was delicious.

The church was beautifully decorated as always.  This  year there was also a prayer tree made by Messy Church.  Non-perishable harvest gifts brought by the Sunday congregation have gone to Joseph's Storehouse at the Carpenter's Arms in Loughborough.  Our morning service was particuarly special because we welcomed a new member who has put down roots with us over the last three years
