Bark Foundation

The Bark Foundation is a registered charity set up by David and Joy Bark.  It was founded in 2008 following a visit David and Joy made to Cameroon in 2007, with other members of the Leicester North

Methodist Circuit.  During the 12 day trip they made a visit to HOTPEC Orphanage and was so moved by the care given to the orphans by staff and volunteers.  They were particularly shocked by the inadequate facilties in the baby unit.  On their return to the UK they decided to form the charity with the aim of supporting the work of HOTPEC.  The first project was to build a new baby unit.  In November 2010 David and Joy visited Cameroon to open and hand over the building to HOTPEC management.  In just over 2 years The Bark Foundation had raised £45,000 to build the new baby unit.

On 7th November 2013 David and Joy travel to Cameroon to open and hand over to HOTPEC Management a Volunteer and Training Centre which has cost £52,000 to build.  This will comprise of 8 bedrooms, dining room, kitchen and toilets which will be used by local and international volunteers.  In addition there is a large hall/theatre which will be used for training, children's activities and performances and worship.

The Bark Foundation has now completed its work in providing  buildings. Fund raising will continue to support HOTPEC children by raising money to fund their educational needs.
