Every Thursday afternoon we have Explorers at St Peter's School in Belgrave.  During the Autumn term about a dozen children were coming along each week for an hour of crafts, drama and Bible stories.  We decided that on the final Thursday before Christmas we would invite parents to come for a short Christingle worship time.  So on December 15th, along with about 12 children, we had several of their parents join us.   Everyone was invited to make a Christingle and we explained what each part of the Christingle represented – the world, the blood of Jesus, the light of the world etc.  In between we also played a few Christmas games.  At the end of the session everyone stood round in a circle while we lit the Christingles, dimmed the lights and sang “Away in a manger” - then we closed with a prayer. It was a really special afternoon and I thought at the time that, for most of the families, this would be their only act of worship at Christmas.  Afterwards several of the parents came and chatted to us and expressed their appreciation of what we were doing.  We were greatly encouraged and hope to try something similar towards Easter. Please continue to pray for these children and their families, that God would touch their lives.
