BREAKOUT 2010:- “Connect with others, with the world, with God”
After months of planning &  serious  fund-raising  Sunday Club @ Birstall arrived at Cliff College. Our first priority  was to stake our claim to a few square meters  of sleeping area on the hall floors, blow up air-beds, unroll sleeping bags & check out the loos. -  Having already eaten our packed tea on the coach the smell of chips proved too great.

Friday evening :- exploring & discovering what was on offer:-
The Media Hub:- Breakout TV. Digital Graffiti, Big screen Wii competitions The Café Tent:- Comedy, juggling, quizzes, Rock, pop & gospel music.                    Global Action:- Climate change,/ God, Poverty & Us/.Small is Beautiful                                                                                                                                The Big Top:- Lacey Theatre Co./ Barbara Nice – Comedian / Rock &pop/            Music/disco /Gospel – Rap – Street Dance
Saturday :- doing our own thing, meeting up at meal times, relaying “where we’d been”  “what we’d done”  - media, comedy, drama, stop-motion animation, music, drumming plus all the sports on offer.
Saturday night  leaders relaxed in “The Well”  (leaders only tent)
everyone else was off either discoing or playing games.
Sunday – 800 young people plus leaders packed into the Big Top for the closing celebration bringing together all that had been shared throughout the weekend in  truly modern & lively worship.
The entire weekend was a fantastic experience helping us all to realize that we are part of something much bigger & taking us another step along the journey of our Christian life.

The ten young people who attended the Breakout weekend at Cliff College did our Circuit proud.

Breakout is a direct descendant of the old MAYC London Weekend and was celebrating its 65th year, and also, sadly, its last.  This is even more of a shame since it was the first one our group had been to and we had a fantastic time.  There was so much for everyone to do with a great range of activities suiting all tastes.  It was a time of great blessing both for the group and for each individual, and a good preparation for those being baptised and confirmed at Birstall on 1st August.  More photos are on the Birstall website.
