I don't know if you have noticed our Circuit mission statement. You know the one that begins with the nice phrase about “Deepening Discipleship” but ends with the scary bit about “Making New Disciples”.
Well it turns out that the Circuit Leadership Team have noticed it too :-) After looking around we decided to bring “Just Walk Across the Room” to a Church near you (actually we mean every Church in the Circuit).
Starting on Sunday 23rd January, this is a course especially designed for people like us who may find the thought of “Making New Disciples” frightening or worrying.
The course consists of four themed Sunday morning services led by the Leicester North Circuit Preachers and Worship Leaders. These are coupled with meetings during the week for small groups. After each Sunday we get together in groups of between 8 and 12 people to explore the theme in a bit more detail and more interactively.
This course is not about embarrassing or aggressive tactics but about welcome, natural friendship and seeing our part in a bigger picture. I enjoyed my own experience of it and saw it help build peoples confidence in their own stories.
We have a team organising this for us (although more are welcome. Contact me if interested), they will be sorting out the publicity and asking you to sign up for the small groups. The groups will work across the Circuit so you can pick a day and time that suits you.
Many people have said how much the course has helped them and that the small groups were a key part of it. Book yourself in and discover how to make it easier to be part of Making New Disciples.

Prayer for JWAR at the planning stage -
· That the Holy Spirit will be at work among our congregations so that we are all ready to meet the challenge of JWAR. · That the mid-week groups will soon be arranged, including venues, times, hosts and group leaders. · That Dave Warnock and Sue Smith will be guided by God as they prepare the service notes for those leading worship during the 4 JWAR services.
